A few years ago, I voluntarily tested a pair of Glerups slippers, our upgraded slippers. Since then I have never found a better slippers than this. Once my feet were put on these stylish, comfortable fleece shoes (somehow, it would never feel too hot), without them, I couldn't bear to walk on the bare wooden floor of my New York City apartment.

I have Glerups shoes, navy blue and honey soles. After three years of wearing, they are still in their best condition. These slippers are easy to put on and take off, but they keep on my feet. They do not make my feet sweat or smell. They feel plush but look minimalist. Although it may seem silly to care about the beauty of home shoes, the elegant design and neutral colors are gentle eyes.

Glerups slippers are the most durable and supportive felt wool slippers we have tested. They are very warm, but are very breathable, so your feet will not sweat.

Felt wool Glerups boots are comfortable, breathable and durable. They are easy to wear on your body and can cover your ankles, so they are a good choice for cold weather.

The notched rubber sole gives me a sense of stepping on smooth floors or short outdoor excursions. If I had to hide outside to get the package, Glerups would take me there. If necessary, I can wipe the soles afterwards.

Over the years, I have tried other slippers, including a pair of shapeless, floppy Muji slippers (from a friend) and a set of cheap IKEA slippers with rough terry cloth and thin soles (I can’t resist them at checkout line) . But really, why bother? Glerups is great.

When I shop these days, I want to buy things for a lifetime. Glerups seem to be durable. These slippers have a two-year warranty and simple care instructions to extend the life of the wool (wool is self-cleaning, so it will not become too rough over time). These shoes are made with care. I am fascinated by the origin story of Glerups. After years of using wool from a small group of Danish sheep to make shoes for family and friends (by hand or using a carding machine), in 2005, Glerups founders Nanny and Ove expanded production to a factory in Romania. Now, we can buy Glerups online-we are lucky. If you can go to the Glerups Museum, you will be luckier (please send photos).

After many winter tests on dozens of slippers, we believe that LLBean’s women’s and men’s Wicked Good Moccasins are the most comfortable and durable pair.

Glerups' timeless style attracts people of all ages and genders. My dad often marvels at my slippers, and I also bought a pair for him. They replaced the textured socks he used to treat neuropathy. Whenever we wandered around the house wearing the matching slippers, we would look down at each other's feet, and then nod approvingly. "Nice slippers," he would say. "Nice slippers," I agreed.

After six years of testing, Glerups slippers are still our favorite pair. They are an upgrade to our most comfortable and durable slippers. We love them for many reasons, including:

If you notice the shedding of wool on these slippers after wearing them for a few months, don't worry. this is normal. You can pull down the shed wool and throw it away-the felt shoes will still be usable in the next few years.

Glerups recommends that you use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the slippers, and then use wool wash, hand wash, or machine wash the slippers with a fine setting (up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). After the slippers are spinning in the washing machine, Glerups recommends putting your feet in wet shoes to properly shape them. Then let them air dry. In case of any problems, Glerups slippers provide a two-year manufacturer's warranty to prevent defects.
